Every złoty on the left flows to the right: to expenses, to goals or to the surplus. When money is short, a red stream shows how much.

How it works
Simple maths, an honest result
-
01
Goals become instalments
Goal amount ÷ (years × 12) is what you need to put aside each month. PLN 120,000 in 5 years is PLN 2,000 a month.
-
02
The month’s balance
Income − expenses − goal savings. A positive result is a surplus, a negative one a shortfall.
-
03
The API grades it
A shortfall means too low. A surplus up to one sixth of income is optimal, and anything above that is excellent.
Three levels, one sun
The horizon is a month that breaks even. The bigger the surplus, the higher the sun.
-
Too low
you spend and save more than you earn
This may be the perfect time to change jobs.
-
Optimal
surplus below 1/6 of income
A strong base, and your next step could be even bigger.
-
Excellent
surplus of at least 1/6 of income
You’re not just stable, you’re thriving.
A public API does the maths
The result comes from the Time to Change API (ASP.NET) at api.timetochange.work. The page sends it only item names, categories and amounts. If the API does not respond, your browser does the same maths and the result is clearly marked as an estimate.

About
A tool that answers one question
Time to Change is a project by Agnieszka Makowej. It started while learning frontend development, with a very real question: is it time to change jobs?
The calculator helps you judge whether your current income lets you pursue your dreams: how much to put aside each month, how much is missing or left over — and which salary would change the result.
Questions
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Only your browser keeps your entries, and “Clear everything” deletes them at once.
What is sent to the API?
Only what the maths needs: item names, categories, amounts and goal horizons. You never enter your name, e-mail or other personal data. The site uses no cookies and no analytics.
Net or gross amounts?
Net: what actually reaches and leaves your account. Divide yearly costs by 12.
Why only Polish złoty?
The calculator is made for people who earn and spend in Poland, and the API works in PLN.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is a tool for your own assessment, not an investment recommendation or financial advice.
